Me? A blog?

Where is Your Joy?

Recently, I've been "suggested" to start a blog, but I dismissed that idea without much consideration. Besides, what do I have to say? Aren't there already many voices out there? Perhaps even too many.

However, today I encountered something that made me reflect, and I began to envision sharing these thoughts. As you might be aware, I handle all my promotion on my own, like most musicians I know, and I was planning to incorporate the concept of "joy" into one of my posts. What appeared were a series of images featuring children. Only children laughing, running, singing, dancing... No adults. No joyful adults.

This saddened me.

It's not that I lack joy, as you know, but the notion that joy is confined to a certain age and doesn't extend beyond childhood struck me.

So, I would like to ask: when do you feel joy?

My days are filled with it, and I'm far from being a child, at least in terms of age, and what's wonderful is knowing that joy is accessible to everyone.

Easier said than done, I realize, but what if we made an effort? Have you tried?

It's true that, as a former student once described me, I'm a "stubbornly optimistic" person, but don't be deceived: I experience deep depression at times, as do many people I know. Don't they say "the brighter the light, the darker the shadow"? And I know all too well that this is true.

So, friends, tell me: what is your joy? Are you willing to ask your younger self?

I really would love to know.
